This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Kawasaki KZ400A Delux has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life.

As you can see this bike looks complete but for the fairing & luggage.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres & seat cover are perished, master cylinder is not working, tank is mucky inside, ignition switch is broken (but working), carburettor inlet rubbers look perished.  Sadly, the ignition key will not open the seat lock.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS

The wheels look straight with nice clean chrome rims.

Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy.

Mudguards are both solid & are tidy.

  Instruments & switches look good, but l/h switch is missing the Hi/Lo toggle.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

 Exhausts are non-original but appear to be solid.

 The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression - We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
